As part of Chicago’s massive 78 development—a 62-acre, $7 billion mixed-use megaproject—Metropolitan Steel delivered critical steel erection for the Wentworth and Wells Street bridges, anchoring the new Wells–Wentworth Connector.
This key north–south roadway links The Loop to Chinatown and features raised bike lanes, expanded pedestrian access, and modern streetscape design. Our team erected the full structural steel assemblies for both bridges, spanning active rail lines and major corridors within the site. One of the most technically impressive feats in our portfolio: a precision bridge roll-in, where we slid a full bridge span into place with exacting control. All delivered on an accelerated timeline through tight coordination with municipal partners and the broader 78 build team.
If you have work that demands experience, precision, and grit—we’re ready to take it on.
