As part of IDOT’s major infrastructure overhaul of I-80 through Will County, Metropolitan Steel was brought on to perform the erection of precast concrete beams for multiple bridge segments within the corridor.
This effort included installations over the Midland Avenue crossing and the Joliet Junction Trail Bridge. Working within tight interstate shutdown windows and adjacent to active traffic and rail corridors, our team delivered precision beam placements across complex geometry. Coordinating directly with general contractors, IDOT inspectors, and the project’s design engineer TransSystems, we executed the beam installation with zero safety incidents and maintained strict schedule adherence. Metropolitan Steel’s scope contributed to a key phase of this $1.2B+ multi-year rebuild—a project that will reshape regional mobility and commerce for decades to come.
If you have work that demands experience, precision, and grit—we’re ready to take it on.
