Located in Aurora, IL, the CyrusOne Aurora Expansion project is a high-performance data center development designed to support cloud service providers and enterprise clients with scalable, mission-critical infrastructure.
Metropolitan Steel was contracted to perform the full structural steel erection for the facility’s expansion, supporting the superstructure of both the new data hall and associated mechanical penthouse systems. Metropolitan Steel erected the structural steel framing for the main data center expansion and rooftop support structures, including roof and mezzanine-level steel for high-load MEP systems and cable tray infrastructure. Our team coordinated closely with MEP trades to accommodate chiller platforms, generator access, and duct and pipe routing—adapting in real time to evolving equipment layouts common in active data center builds. Delivered on a fast-track schedule, the project demanded strict adherence to site security protocols and clean construction practices. We collaborated seamlessly with architect Corgan, structural engineer AG&E, and the GC team to meet every milestone without disruption.
If you have work that demands experience, precision, and grit—we’re ready to take it on.
